Fleece Hats for the Grandkids!

I made all 16 grandchildren a fleece hat, but didn't have them all done at once to take a picture. So here are 5 of them. Pink for the girls and yellow for the boys.

Yay! Another one done!

I got another afghan done! I've been trying to do these for my nieces and nephews for their birthdays...the ones that didn't get them this year will get them next year (let's face it, with 12 of them on my side of the family there's no way I'd have time to make them all one). Now on to the next project!

Spooky Spiders and Skeleton

Miles & I have been doing spooky crafts to decorate for Halloween! He's had a lot of fun helping out and we're planning on doing more projects tomorrow. I know the skeleton is quite freaky looking, but it was fun!

The yellow-legged spider is our doorbell watcher....oooooh, shpooky!!!

Flower Power

I did this with my embroidery machine. I am going to attach it to my purse. I think it will also look cute in the girls hair.

BIG Purse!

OK so it's not Friday but I couldn't wait any longer to post this purse that I made. It is so big and holds a lot! Decided it was time to post some sewing.

Canning ALL day long!

Chunky Fingers Friday participants Melinda & Rachel started canning peaches at around 7:30 a.m. the other day....our third CFF member, Karen joined us a couple of hours later to can some more peaches. Rachel got 14 quarts and Melinda ended up with 7. Karen broke the chain of quarts and canned 21 in the pint-sized jars (Rachel secretly wishes she had used the pints too since it's a perfect size for a small family, but is happy with the results nonetheless).

After we enjoyed a lunch of pizza provided by Karen (the only reason we invited her to can peaches was because she had the pizza...not really, but we do appreciate the grub!) Melinda & Rachel made a trip up to Neola to visit Kylene who had slaved all day to pick apples for us to make applesauce. Kylene had picked SO many apples for us that we were starting to run short on time. We got some jars filled and Rachel hauled them back into town to process them at home since there were still 2 bath canners there. Those were finished at about 6:30 so it was a very long day of canning, but well worth it! We're quite proud of what our Chunky Fingers can accomplish in one day!

Sarah & Alyssa needed something to put into their reading book basket in their classroom. It will be auctioned off. Sarah's book is If you feed a cat a cupcake so Melinda signed her up to bring an apron (knowing that Grandma would make it). And Alyssa's book is an Amber Brown one so her tote is a boy & girl swinging on a tire swing. I know they both hope to be top bidder on their classes basket. I know this isn't Friday (they are kind of busy for me now), but Melinda said maybe it should be stubby finger Saturday.

'Nother one.

So I know it's not Friday, but I did finish this last Friday! It was an experimental afghan for my niece's birthday....I call it the Freddy Krueger afghan.

FloWeR HaiR tHinGs

My girls and I made these one day while at Mom's house. Jacque made some too but I didn't get a picture of hers. They all turned out really cute and my girlies were so proud of the one's they made!

Since Melinda posted her cupcakes I thought I'd post my bread and brownies. I was little Red Hen and ground the wheat. This is so yummy! Whole wheat bread with 9 grain cereal. Of course because of the healthiness of it I decided I'd better add a little variety and made brownies. Haven't dared to cut them yet because I could eat the whole panful!
On Tues. 2 Chunky Fingers Friday people (Rachel & Karen) and 1 Crafty Thursday person (Jacque) made bracelets for our watches. It was fun trying to decide what beads and colors to use. The small colored beads on this one reminds me of jelly beans, too bad they didn't have any that looked like peanut M&Ms.

Ice Cream Cupcakes!

I know this isn't necessarily a craft but, they were fun for the kids to make! We also needed a new post!!! Just make cupcakes, add pink lemonade punch mix to vanilla icecream, frost and add a cherry (or shape a starburst into one if you don't have cherries!). YUMMY

Rachel, Karen (majah, mamacita, mama mia...etc etc) and I are in a card swap! These were our cards for this month. Rachel did the Pooh Bear, Mom did the icecream and I did the baby card! We also got a few cricut cartridges to tryout....we are gonna be busy!

ok, I got the picture rotated!

The Spoils!

Rachel & I spent our afternoon shopping at our newly found bead store. We are so dissapointed that they are closing their store, but look at what I purchased. Tons of fun to come. Poor Melinda hasn't moved out yet so she missed out on the spoils of our expedition!

frog in a jar

Ok I'm the embroidery person on this blog. I did the frog in the jar. Isn't he cute! Hunter is testing the shirt to see how the vinyl holds up. When it has been tested I'll know whether to do one for all the grandsons!

A day late and a post short.

So we're a day late on our chunky fingers friday post, but hey, did you really think we'd be that consistent? Here's an afghan (modeled by my special crochet couch in my awesome craft room) that I crocheted quite a while ago. I have been working on another one, but it's not quite done yet. Sorry about the crappy picture, we'll try for some better posts next week.

The FIRST Friday!

The beginning of many Friday projects!! Today we are making bracelets and necklaces. We started out with a trip to Duchesne's fabulous scrapbooking/bead store!
